Count To 10 Workout

This workout is a great way to get in both cardio and strength exercises. It takes no gym equipment and replaces fitness of an elliptical machine. The best part about it is that all you need to do is know how to count to 10. Of course, you can always readjust the numbers to fit your level of fitness. But this is the basics of the workout:

  • Climb and descend 1 flight of stairs 10 times
  • Do 10 push-ups
  • Repeat the flight of stairs 10 more times
  • Do 10 sit-ups
  • Complete 10 times

Hi Evan – I’m pouring over your blog (little by little). I love it! I love that Chobani featured you or I very likely never would have made it here. The internet can be evil and consuming, but it might be worth it for gems like this blog! Way to go – you’re an inspiration (even if you don’t mean to be).

I’m really curious about this “workout”. I recently moved to England and I’ve left my wonderful (albeit, neglected) gym behind in the States and I’m in a very remote area, so I’m getting back to basics, so to speak. So, this really appeals to me – I have stairs in my house and sit up bar.

When you say “Complete 10 times” – do you mean that by the end of the workout I will have climbed the stairs 200 times in the end?

Hi Sarah, In theory, yes, that would be the ultimate goal of the workout. But like any form of exercise I wouldn’t jump in with a set number in mind. Instead, I’d recommend using the same method and good form and doing as much as is physically challenging without being overwhelming.

Oh yeah! I definitely wouldn’t be able to “finish” this workout – I was just verifying the goal. ;) I love it’s ridiculous simplicity.
